Wests +Plus Cricket Academy Coaches


Pat Collins

Pat is West’s current club captain and the captain of our First Grade Premier Men’s team. He is a long-serving member of the Wests club and has extensive experience in all aspects of the game both as a player and as a coach. In addition to his contribution to Wests as a club cricketer, Patrick has also played and coached in the UK, and is the Cricket Co-ordinator for St Joseph’s College Gregory Terrace. Pat is our lead coach for our Wests +Plus Winter Focus Squad, and has also run this advanced skills program for Wests in previous years.


George Seaward

George is currently Wests U16 Lord Taverners Coach. George has a wealth of junior development coaching. George has guided Ipswich Grammar School teams to premierships with the U 15’s. He was the successful team coach for the Inaugural U16 Qld Cricket Rookie Challenge team. (His Assistant coach was Billy Stanlake!!!). George also coached our very own Premier Grade Youth Girls team to the final in last year’s debut competition under lights and has credentials as a very successful MSW Junior Representative Coach.  George is our lead coach for the Wests +Plus Development Squads.


Justin Frew

Justin is currently Wests 1st grade batsmen/wicket keeper. Justin has represented in Queensland Under 19 Schoolboys Team. Justin has toured Sri Lanka, played as the overseas professional in the Home Counties, Cherwell League, England and as an opening batsmen/keeper in the Malaysian Premier League. Justin has been the Queensland Ambassador for the Australian Multicultural Cricket Leadership Program.


Justin is also a specialist coach for Brisbane Boys College and was the coach of our last premiership-winning Lords Taverners Team in 2012/13.

Sam Truloff

Sam is a current Queensland Bulls and Wests First Grade batsman. He has a long history of excellent contribution to Wests both as a player and as a club member, commencing with his stellar performances in the Lords Taverners competition and carrying through to the present as a key part of Wests Frist Grad team when he is available between Queensland representative duties. Sam also has significant experience as a coach. He has coached at the Wests Winter Academy in previous years and continues to provide specialist advanced coaching for our Wests Plus Focus Squad.

Zac Beveridge

Zac is a batsmen/spin bowler who debuted with Wests last season playing second grade and first grade games. Zac had previously played 1st grade cricket in Toowoomba and also represented the Toowoomba Grammar 1st XI for 3 years including being appointed captain in his final school year. Zac has been a member of the Qld U17s and U19s squads and has played for Qld country in the U17’s, U19’s and U23’s. Zac has a breadth of coaching experience already including, several cricket camps, school and club teams and has been employed as specialist coach for 1st XI cricket teams.
