Wests fielded a team in the inaugural Youth Girl’s Premier competition run by Queensland Cricket during the 2017/18 season. The Youth Girl’s competition competes for the Paul Pink Shield. It is a T20 competition and operates under Premier Cricket standards and the same rules as the Jodie Fields Shield (Women’s Second Grade). This competition provides a clear pathway for players between junior community cricket and senior premier grade competition.A key feature of this competition is that many of the games are played under lights at Wests’ Chelmer Sports Ground facility.
In the inaugural 2018/19 season, Wests’ girls had fantastic success with a strong run to the final where they were defeated by a very strong Gold Coast Dolphins team.

Wests policy is to provide its members with the training and support needed to enable them to realise their full potential. Our goal is to develop the cricketing skill of young club members so they they successfully transition from junior through youth teams to senior premier grade competition.
